GOT TO GO HOME!!!

I finally got to go home to see my family! It was great fun and I'm so glad I have finally got to go. I haven't seen my family since Christmas, and I won't be able to see them again until this Christmas, sadness!!!

So I had an early morning flight, as usual, which sucks for me. And I worked Monday night till 11:30. So i got off work and then packed my car, checked oil and tires and everything like that, and then realized I didn't have directions to my grandma's house. So I called Spencer and he got the directions for me. After all of that, I didn't leave Logan till 12:30 I think. So that didn't put me at my grandma's house until 2. I had a hard time falling asleep, so I don't think I went to sleep until 2:15-2:30. I had to get up at 4:45. I was not happy. I got up, my grandma took me to the airport, and I checked in and everything and was waiting and ate a poptart for breakfast. Now I'm feeling slightly nauseous, which always happens when I fly early early in the morning. So it took awhile to eat.

I took my flights and I ended up sleeping on my second flight, which was great. My mom picked me up at the airport and I was so glad to see her! I love my mom, she is my best friend and I was just filled with absolute happiness at seeing her. I couldn't give her a hug until we went to a store for something because she wasn't able to find a place to park to meet me inside the airport, which was ok.

We did random stuff on Tuesday, lots of pictures and being bombarded by Connor and Karissa, especially Karissa. Oh, and I almost forgot, we went and saw Dark Knight, such a good movie. On Wednesday, we went to Six Flags, which was an absolute blast! Although my feet hurt so bad before the day was halfway done, oh well. On Thursday, I don't remember exactly what we did, I don't think it was a lot. I don't remember. on Friday, we went boating. It would have been a lot of fun except for the fact that the lake was really rough and so skiing wasn't fun and I hurt myself tubing. We left pretty early, but it was still fun being with the family. Oh, and we also did family pictures Friday morning, and we haven't done those in forever.

Mom and I also did a book exchange. I brought I don't know how many books and I took 54 books, and a couple of those were my books that I had left there over Christmas. I miss my family already and I can't wait to see them again!

The Golden Cord by: Paul Genesse (1st in series)

A really good book! I really enjoyed it and recommend it to everybody!

Excerpt from The Golden Cord:

Drake pressed the blade against Blayne's throat and glanced at his two Drobin friends.
"Get to the woods."
"You'll follow?" Bellor asked with concern.
The young man nodded, wondering if the War Priest guessed his intentions.
Thor glared at the crossbowmen aiming at Drake, then put his thick fist against his chest and nodded at Drake before withdrawing. Bellow pulled on the dogs' collars. They whined and barked as Bellor dragged them across the drawbridge, then across the field into the forest. Drake glanced at the dead dogs in the tunnel and at the severed heads on the bridge. The men were killed because of him. There was no other truth. He could have let the Drobin die in the Thornclaw Forest. Instead he had brought them to Armstead, somehow triggering the attack.
The time had come. Drake stepped away from Blayne, giving the Armsteaders clear shots with their crossbows. He locked eyes with Elder Trevers and let his knife fall from his grasp. "My life for theirs."
The villagers took aim.
Drake's last regret was that he would never see Jaena again.

Behold the Man by: Gerald N. Lund (final in series)

An amazing book and an amazing series!!! This gives a whole new meaning to me about Jesus' life here on Earth and his teachings and how they affected people. An excellent book and I definitely recommend the series to everybody!!!

Jesus of Nazareth has been preaching in Judea for three years and has gathered many followers with his teachings and miracles. But he has also made enemies who fear his power and his influence and who have conspired to put an end to him by whatever means possible.

Mordechai ben Uzziel's life couldn't be any worse. His daughter, Miriam, has vanished from Rome, spirited away by none other than his old nemesis--Simeon ben David. Meanwhile, Mordechai's credibility with the Sanhedrin is jeopardized when the Council learns that his own daughter has become a disciple of this so-called Messiah.

Simeon ben David's life couldn't be any better. After struggling to follow the Savior and to testify of his knowledge that Jesus is the Son of God, Simeon has found peace and joy in following the Master. More than that, he has found love; he and Miriam will be betrothed before the feast of Hanukkah.

The family of David ben Joseph continues to follow Jesus, though the Savior's teachings now carry an undercurrent of sorrow and unsettling prophecy. And despite increasing danger, Jesus' ministry--and his life--approaches, the lines are swiftly and solidly drawn between those who will stand for Jesus and those who will tear him down.

Come Unto Me by: Gerald N. Lund (2nd in series)

Jesus of Nazareth's announcement that he is the Messiah has blazed through Jerusalem and the surrounding countryside like wildfire. As he travels through Galilee, the crowds follow him, witnessing miracles and healings. Jesus teaches the parable of the lost sheep and the return of the prodigal son. He walks on the water. With each new miracle, healing, or teaching, more and more people testify that Jesus is the Messiah.

Simeon's discipleship to Jesus the Messiah has come at a high price. Haunted by the devastation wrought after the battle of Joknean Pass, Simeon struggles to find a way to rescue Yehuda from certain death and yet still be true to Jesus' commandment to "Love thy enemies."

Discipleship has exacted a high price from Miriam as well. Her relationship with her father, Mordechai, is already strained by her interest in Jesus and tensions mount when she enters the waters of baptism. But all too soon, she is faced with a deadly choice: confess her involvement in the events at Joknean Pass and further sacrifice her relationship with her father, or remain silent and sacrifice her friends and fellow disciples to the Romans.

Meanwhile Ya'abin begins attacking Roman columns in the Judean wilderness, and Mordechai and Marcus unite to face a common threat. But Mordechai has bigger plans than simply ensnaring the Desert Fox; he plots to eliminate the threat Jesus poses to his religion and his family. And if his plans happen to also eliminate Simeon the Javelin, so much the better.

A Lick of Frost by: Laurell K. Hamilton (6th in series)

I am Meredith Gentry, princess and heir apparent to the throne in the realm of faerie, onetime private investigator in the mortal world. To be crowned queen, I must first continue the royal bloodline and give birth to an heir of my own. If I fail, my aunt, Queen Andais, will be free to do what she most desires: install her twisted son, Cel, as monarch...and kill me.

My royal guards surround me, and my best loved--my Darkness and my Killing Frost--are always beside me, sworn to protect and make love to me. But still the threat grows greater. For despite all my carnal efforts I remain childless, while the machinations of my sinister, sadistic Queen and her confederates remain tireless. So my bodyguards and I have slipped back into Los Angeles, hoping to outrun the gathering shadows of court intrigue. But even exile isn't enough to escape the grasp of those with dark designs.

Now King Taranis, powerful and vain--glorious ruler of faerie's Seelie Court, has leveled accusations against my noble guards of a heinous crime--and has gone so far as to ask the mortal authorities to prosecute. If he succeeds, my men face extradition to faerie and the hideous penalties that await them there. But I know that Taranis's charges are baseless, and I sense that his true target is me. He tried to kill me when I was a child. Now I fear his intentions are far more terrifying.

Danse Macabre by: Laurell K. Hamilton (14th in series)

It was the middle of November. I was supposed to be out jogging, but instead I was sitting at my breakfast table talking about men, sex, werewolves, vampires, and that thing that most unmarried but sexually active women fear most...

Anita Blake needs to be concentrating on a dangerous situation: The ardeur, the sexual power that flows between Anita and Jean-Claude, Master Vampire of the City, and Richard, the volatile werewolf who loves her passionately, is reaching new levels, perhaps evolving into something altogether new. The ardeur seems to be choosing new lovers for Anita, acting with a will of its own. As Jean-Claude says, the ardeur is hunting powerful prey. The unexpected effect of this is that Jean-Claude's own power as a master vampire has grown to new levels--and Richard, never predictable, is changing, too.

But as the days pass, Anita's less interested in vampire politics than in an ancient, ordinary dread she shares with women down the ages: She may be pregnant. And, if she is, whether the father is a vampire, a werewolf, or someone else entirely, she knows perfectly well that being a Federal Marshal known for raising the dead and executing vampires is no way to bring up a baby...

"The last time a Master Vamp had come to town and tried to steal me from Jean-Claude, I'd ended up in a coma for a week. Richard had gotten his throat torn out, and Jean-Claude had nearly died for real. Vampires were always either trying to kill me, or own me. God I hated being popular."

Circus of the Damned by: Laurell K. Hamilton (3rd in series)

When a powerful, centuries-old vampire hits town, a battle of the undead ensues, with the soul of the city--and Anita's life--at stake...

"SO I WAS AFRAID; SO WHAT? I had to go, and the sooner I left, the sooner I could come home. If only I believed that Jean-Claude would make things that simple. Nothing was ever simple where he was concerned. If I learned anything about the murders tonight, I'd pay for it, but not in money. Jean-Claude seemed to have plenty of that. No, his coin was more painful, more intimate, more bloody."

Fishers of Men by: Gerald N. Lund (1st in series)

In an ancient land in a time foretold by prophets, a babe was born beneath a shining star. Thirty years later, Jesus of Nazareth began teaching a message of hope, peace, and love. He claimed to be the Son of God, and his words--and his life--would change the world.

In Fishers of Men, the first volume in the series The Kingdom and the Crown, bestselling author Gerald N. Lund transports us to the days of Christ's mortal ministry and invites us to experience the emotions and events of those extraordinary times.

Reports of Jesus of Nazareth have reached the ears of David ben Joseph, a merchant in Capernaum, who has waited and watched for the Messiah ever since a special, starlit night thirty years before. He and his family decide to see for themselves whether or not the rumors are true.

Though David is quick to accept Jesus as the Messiah, the rest of his family is more cautious. His wife, Deborah, and his son, Simeon, leaders in the rebellious Zealot movement, look for a Messiah that will crush the Romans with power and the sword, not one preaching a message of love and forgiveness.

Meanwhile, reports of Jesus have reached into the very heart of Jerusalem, and both the powerful Sadducee Mordechai ben Uzziel and the Pharisee Azariah are growing uneasy with the news. Though they hold opposing political views, both agree that something must be done to stop this man from Nazareth before he gets out of hand.

Fishers of Men is a sweeping epic filled with memorable characters who bring to life an extraordinary time in teh history of the world. It is a story about the importance of family, the power of faith, the miracle of forgiveness, and the strength needed to follow your heart.
