Total Slacker

Ok, so I am a total slacker, I know. I hate getting behind on this because I never want to catch back up because there is so much to do. I don't think I'm going to blog on all of the books I've read since I posted last time because I don't remember what I have read or when I read them. So I'll get back up on that from now on.

Let's see here, what has happened since January?

BIRTHDAY SHOUTOUTS!

First things first: 1/10/10-HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!! You turned the big 39, hehe. I love you so much Mom and I am so grateful for all that you do for me!

Next: 1/18/10-HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX AND JEN!!! I miss you guys so much! It was great seeing you at Spring Break! I have so many great memories from you guys throughout high school and I wish we lived closer, oh well.

Next: 3/6/10-HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD AND GRANDMA KENNEDY!!! Dad turned the big 41 and Grandma never gets old, hehehe. I love you Dad for all that you do for me and all the support you have given me since I have left the nest. I love you so much Grandma and I miss seeing you. Hopefully I'll be able to see you at my wedding!

Last: 4/4/10-HAPPY BIRTHDAY CONNOR!!! I CANNOT believe that you are 12 years old now! Where has all the time gone? I remember holding you as a baby and changing your diaper. When you broke your arm, you learned real quick what a weapon that cast made. I really wish I could have been there for your birthday, especially your birthday party! You're so lucky that you get to go play laser tag! That is so much fun! I love you so much Connor and I bet you will be taller than me by the time I see you at my wedding.

SPRING BREAK

For Spring Break, my Mom came up to Utah and helped me plan my wedding. Mom thought I had more done than I did and was a little annoyed that it wasn't, but everything turned out fine. We got all of my center pieces together, got my shoes for the wedding day, got my photographer and makeup/hair taken care of and more than I can remember now. We got to go back to Fallon, NV for a day or two for my bridal shower that was being thrown. Unfortunately, Mom killed my car right when we got to Fallon. She ran my car out of gas (Which I have NEVER done before in my life) and it killed my fuel pump. So she spent all day Saturday, the day of my bridal shower (before my party though) trying to get it fixed. She managed to get a guy to come out and fix my car and still make it to my party, so that was great. I had so much fun at my party and it was great seeing so many people from church. I miss everybody so much and it was so great seeing Mom for a week. I definitely can't wait to see you again in July, I love you so much Mom! I do have some pictures from my bridal shower that I will get on here.

Proposal Pictures

I don't have pictures personally from when Spencer proposed to me, but the guy that took the pictures for us has a website that the pictures are on. If you are interested in seeing the pictures, click here. The pictures are copyrighted, which is why I didn't just put them on here.

Anything else?

I can't think of anything else in particular to blog about, I think I am caught up for the most part. All I have been doing lately is go to school, work and finalize on wedding plans. I spend a lot of my spare time, when I actually remember too at least, getting the paper for my invitations cut out. Once I get that finished I can actually start putting them together, which will be nice, they are so cute! All I know is that I can't wait for July! That means that school will be over (Thank Goodness!) and it means all of my wedding planning will be done and I will be happily married!

Oh!

Oh I just remembered, so I do have this crazy story to tell.

Spencer and I are on this waiting list to get into an apartment once we are married. We decided to check in on them and see where we were on the list. We go in there and she asks for our name, so Spencer gives his name first. She types in his last name and it pops up "Eric Hickenlooper", which is his brother. We tell her that's not us and give her my name, which brings up us. We find that we are like #175 for a two-bedroom apartment and number #145 for a one-bedroom apartment. She asks us if Eric was still looking for an apartment, we tell her that he moved to Arizona and so, no, he wasn't. She tells us that Eric is #1 on the waiting list because he signed up in 2008 and that if he called in and asks them to replace our name with his that she could get us an apartment tomorrow! How cool is that? So instead of not knowing when we would be getting an apartment, we now know that when we are ready to move in, we can move in immediately. Totally awesome!

I'M ENGAGED!!!

So Spencer finally popped the question on Friday, November 2o, 2009. I said, "Yes!" I like this picture, I had put my finger over the flash, and it makes the ring look pretty.
So the question everybody has on their mind is: How did he propose? Well, Spencer was coaching a Trappers game on Friday. The Trappers are the traveling mens' league team based in Logan, UT. Because Spencer still isn't fully recovered from breaking his ankle and so he was offered a coaching spot on the time. Well the game was a slow game, not much happened. So I was thinking that I might get up and get something from the concessions stand or go to the bathroom during the break between the second and third period. So I was getting my motivation to get up and get moving when I noticed that only the opposing team had gotten off the ice. The Trappers were still on the ice.

Then the guys on the team all knelt down on the edges of the big face-off circle in the middle of the ice. As I was trying to figure out what was happening, the captain, Shimmell, got a microphone and said, "Will Makayla Schmelter please come down to the ice." I sat there shocked, wondering if he really said my name because he did sound a little garbled. Then he said again, "Is Makayla Schmelter here?" Spencer's roommate, Mike, said that they were asking for me. By this time I knew what was going to happen. So I stood up, Shimmell asked if I was Makayla Schmelter, and then he motioned me down to the ice. So I get down to the door, someone opens it for me, and Shimmell and Paul, a defenseman, offered me their arms so I wouldn't fall. They escorted me to the middle of the ice and Spencer was standing there. He kneels down on one knee, pulls out a beautiful box, and Shimmell hands him the microphone. He says into the microphone, "Makayla, will you marry me?" and opens the box and shows my beautiful ring. Of course I said, "Yes" and put the ring on my finger. We got the loudest cheering and whistling and horn blowing of the entire game. It was embarrassing but sweet. Before we left the ice, Spencer had Scott, the guy who takes all of the pictures for the hockey games, take some pictures of us. I don't know when he started snapping pictures, hopefully he took one of Spencer proposing, we will find out in a couple of days.
So here is my beautiful ring. I picked it out myself. Spencer had no idea which one to get me when we went ring browsing. This picture has both the engagement ring and the wedding band with it. The wedding band goes underneath the diamond. I think it looks prettiest with both the wedding band and engagement ring together, so I wear them both. So, here is the romantic story of how Spencer proposed to me.

Car Trade

So Spencer, his parents, and I all made the 4 1/2 hour drive to Rawlins, WY to switch cars. Spencer's dad, Gary, traded in Spencer's Jeep for the Cash-for-Clunkers deal in September, I think, and got a 2009 or 2010 Hyundai Accent. So Spencer has been driving the Accent around since then. Gary was fixing up an old Toyota 4Runner for Spencer. All the repairs are finally finished and so today we made the switch. Spencer now has the 4Runner and Gary has the Accent. Unfortunately we had to leave town at 7 am this morning. That sucked! Spencer drove the first half of the trip because I don't completely trust myself with a stick-shift. We arrived in Rawlins at about 11:15 am and beat Gary and Debbie by about 20 minutes, and they left before we did. But that is because we had the new Accent that could go 90 mph and they had the 4Runner that could go 80 mph max. The truck is a beast, and it will be even more of a beast once Spencer puts the lift on it that he wants. We got back into Logan at about 6 pm, I think. So that was our fun, adventurous day we had today.

HAPPY TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY, SPENCER!

Happy Two Year Anniversary, Spencer! I have loved every minute that I have spent with you these last two years. I have not regretted any moment we have been together. I cannot wait until we are married. I look forward to that day and can't wait for this next year to fly by. I love you so much and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you!

Spencer Update

So I'm going to update about Spencer. In case anybody doesn't know or don't remember, Spencer broke his ankle on February 21 playing ice hockey. On February 26 he had surgery done to fix his ankle. He had a plate and 12 screws put in his ankle.

During the surgery, the doctors put his leg on a metal stand to hold his leg up in the air to fix his ankle. They had just pulled the metal stand out of the sterilization machine, and so it was still kinda warm. A good analogy would be like leaning up against a warm car, you can only stand leaning against it for a little while before you had to move. Spencer couldn't move because he was under anesthesia, so his leg stayed there for an hour and a half to two hours. When he came to, he complained about his calf burning. The nurse just loosened his splint, packed ice around his leg, and gave him morphine. That's all they would do.

When Spencer got home, he pulled his bandages back a little, saw something, and wiped with his finger and pulled the top layer of his skin off. He of course freaked out, and when I got to his house after work, he told me about it. We went back to the hospital on February 27 and had the emergency room look at it. Everyone there was shocked that the hospital had burned Spencer. The hospital had us go back every day to get the dressings changed. The problem is that everyone kept telling us that it was just a second-degree burn and that it would heal by itself.

They had Spencer doing some crazy treatments. One of the craziest treatments was having him doing hyperbaric treatments. Basically he layed in a big tube and wasn't allowed to bring anything into the tube except pure cotton. Then 100% pure oxygen was pumped into the tube. He was allowed 15 minutes of normal air two times, and he was in the tube for about 2 hours. He had to do this every day for a couple of weeks. After one of the treatments, he was getting his bandages changed, and the doctor who looked at it was a volunteer from the University of Utah Burn Center. She sent him to the Burn Center and they told him that he had a third-degree burn and needed a skin graft.

So we learned that he had a third-degree burn after a month of treatment. Spencer's mom came out to Logan to be with Spencer when he got his skin graft. Spencer is now able to move around and do most things with no problem. He doesn't really have a calf muscle right now because the third-degree burn killed the nerve endings and penetrated the muscle. So when he got his skin graft, they had to cut out part of the muscle to get out all the dead skin.

Spencer is starting to play hockey again. Because he doesn't have a calf muscle, he can't jump after the puc, he has to shuffle along after it. Spencer has Seigfried and Jensen, the law firm, working on his case to sue the hospital. They have just finished building the case and have just notified the hospital that Spencer is suing them. If the hospital cooperates, he should have his settlement in about 3 months. If the hospital doesn't cooperate, it can take up to a year to get his settlement.

So here is the update on Spencer. Tada, hehe.

I'm Updating!

I know, I'm a slacker. I am in the process of updating my blog right now. I have to transfer my pictures over from my camera to my computer and then I will update the blog. I'll be updating about my new apartment, my new car that I got back in February, and I'll do a quick blurb about Spencer.

Valentine's Day

Three hearts
I Love You
You're The Greatest
Three Hearts
I Love You

This Valentine's Day, Spencer got me a bear that sings "Hey There Delilah" by: Plain White T's and the bear has a rose that twirls around and says "I love you", has three hearts that show up, and says "You're the Greatest". He also got me two dozen roses, a box of chocolates, and a big stuffed dog. The roses are absolutely beautiful and I loved them.

Spencer Update

Ok so here is the news on what is going on with his shoulder.

Now I don't remember if I told you what is specifically wrong so I'll just say it again. He has a 3rd degree AC Separation in his shoulder. Which basically means he tore a bunch of stuff in his shoulder. We went and talked to a doctor on Tues, Nov 4 (I think) and the doctor said that Spencer had two options. He could either have surgery and be out for about 3 mos, or he could just leave it alone and let it heal by itself and be back playing hockey in 4-6 weeks. If you haven't guessed it he is leaving it alone.

So he has been on Percocet constantly to help with the pain until yesterday when his prescription ran out. So he has been feeling better but he is definitely ready for his shoulder to be fixed and to stop hurting.

Not Good!

Ok, so on Saturday night, November 1, Spencer and I went to watch the USU hockey game. The Aggies won 14-2, I think, I don't remember the exact score but we creamed them. We played Utah Valley University. After the USU game, Spencer had a Men's League game. So he was my ride and so I stayed to watch him. It is only like 5-7 minutes into the game when I looked up and i saw Spencer leaning down to get the puck and his skate lost the edge. So he fell onto his stomach. He blocks the shot by the oppposing team, and he keeps sliding and just slams into the boards.

I was watching and as soon as he hit, I just knew something was wrong. I just had a feeling in my gut. When Spencer hit, all the impact went into his shoulder. When he got up, he saw the puck at his feet and swung at it. When he swung, he felt and heard a loud pop coming from his shoulder. He knew something was wrong and so went to the bench. (Now, you have to remember that I am watching all of this with a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach and worry on my face.) I am watching as he sits on the bench and then watching John (manager of the ice rink and a coach for the USU team) pull off Spencer's jersey. I am watching as Spencer and John leave the rink and go back to the lockers. As soon as he was off the ice, I gathered my blanket and purse and go to see what happened and they had disappeared into one of the lockers.

So I am sitting in the stands waiting to know what happened. John finally comes back out and waves me down. I get down to him and he tells me Spencer hurt his shoulder and I need to take him to the E.R. As he is telling me this my stomach just drops lower and lower. So I drive Spencer's jeep to the hospital and I am not wanting to go the speed limit. I didn't want to go fast over any bumps in the road and jar his shoulder. So I'm going at like 25 mph until Spencer just tells me to speed up so we get to the hospital before he passes out. So I start to freak, I am on the verge of tears with worry. It sucked.

So we finally get to the hospital. I had pulled into the drop off area the wrong way, I wasn't even paying attention, all I wanted to to do was get him in there. So he heads into the E.R. while I park the jeep. When I get into the waiting room with him, they have us wait like 10-15 min before they will admit him into a room. Then once we get into the room, it was another 10-15 min before they took him to get x-rayed. While he was getting x-rayed I'm just chilling in his room with nothing to do except worry.

When he finally gets back to the room, we had to wait another 10 min before the doctor came and talked to us. When the doctor came, he told us that Spencer had separated his shoulder and that Spencer had a 3rd degree AC separation. So there were two treatment options, 1) get surgery; 2) let it heal without surgery. But the doctor in the E.R. wouldn't tell us more than that, we had to see an Orthopedic surgeon about that. So the doctor put Spencer in a sling, gave him some drugs and gave him the name of an Orthopedic surgeon.

Now Spencer has been on Percocet for the last, almost week now. The doctors in the E.R. only gave him 16 pills, that was only enough until Tuesday morning. Spencer didn't see the Orthopedic surgeon until Wednesday afternoon. He didn't want to go a day and a half without any pain pills. So we drove to the E.R. to see if they would give him some more drugs, they wouldn't. Then he went to the hockey doctor to see if he would. The hockey doctor wasn't there. Then we went to see the Orthopedic surgeon to see if they would, and they wouldn't. Then Spencer got a call to say that the hockey doctor got the message and wrote out a perscription for more Percocet.

Ugh! This has been hectic. I'll keep you posted on what is going on.

San Jose Sharks vs. L.A. Kings

So I got to go see the San Jose Sharks and the L.A. Kings play on Sunday. It was an ok game. It was a good hockey game, but it was kinda boring. The fans were split in who they were cheering for. So the fans were not very loud or exciting. Spencer, me, Eric (Spencer's brother), and Chris (their roommate) all went to watch the game. The score was Sharks 3, L.A. 1.

Broke Up

Just so everybody knows, Spencer and I have officially broken up as of yesterday. We feel that it is too difficult to stay a couple over the summer with us in different states. So I don't know what will happen after school starts in the fall, but I do know that we have broken up and are no longer a couple. It sucks, but what can we do. This will give us a chance to date and meet other people. =(

Utah State vs. University of Utah

On Friday, USU played U of U. We beat them 6-3. Spencer and Eric actually got to play this game, although that was simply because this was the last game of the season. Spencer and Eric were on a line with 2 other guys, this was dumb because you are only supposed to have 3 guys on a line, not 4. So it sucked for them. Spencer told me before the game that he was going to get in a fight, he really wanted to. So in the second period, Spencer is skating along, and "accidentally" elbowed some guy in the head. I don't know if it was on purpose, so that is why there are parantheses. After this happened, this other guy, who had also tried to pick a fight with Spencer earlier, came up and cross-checked him in the neck. (Cross-checking, for those of you who don't know, is when they take their stick, put their hands at opposite ends, and then hit somebody with it.) So Spencer nomrally would have just walked away, but since there was 4 people on his line, he decided to fight the kid. Now this kid hurried and jabbed Spencer twice in the side before Spencer wailed on him. Spencer knocked the kids helmet off, and when he tried to drop his gloves so he could fight better, they wouldn't slide off, so he just started hitting. Now this kid is about as tall as I am, maybe a little taller, and so Spencer just started wailing on his face like it was no big deal, he probably got in 3 or 4 good hits before the ref's came and separated them. Spencer and the other kid got kicked out, but the other kid got called on instigating the fight, which he did. Spencer just finished it. I took pics of the fight, but I have to wait till Spencer emails them to me, but I will post them as soon as I can.

Valentine's Day!

So for Valentine's Day, Spencer and I hung out as usual. I got him Phase 10, a frog that makes kissing noises (which was so totally cute!), and a pack of gum. He got me a card that was really cute, 3 roses, a stuffed puppy, and he took me out to ice cream! It was really sweet! We watched the first half of Varsity Blue before he had to take me home because he left today to go to Montana; which is sad for me, but oh well.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Crazy Weather

So today we had some CRAZY weather. On Monday and Tuesday, the weather was in the 40's and it was sooo nice! It was soo warm and I was so excited! Than today, it was pretty warm this morning, and clear too. At about 11:30, it started to snow, and I mean REALLY snow. It was dumping on us. When Spencer took me back up to campus for Institute at 1:20, there were already roads that were being blocked off. When I left Insitute at 3, it looked like there was a blizzard outside. It was absolutely crazy! It was snowing so hard! So I make a mad dash for the TSC and the comfort of being inside and I start wandering around the Bookstore, just to see what there was. I saw some stuff that I would like to buy as Christmas presents, I'm thinking early for once. While I am wandering around, Spencer calls to see how I am doing and to tell me that there is a blizzard outside, not that I didn't know that already =). I told him that I was not looking forward to walking to my math class, because my math class is about a 7 min walk that is mostly outside, I can cut through some buildings, but I would still be outside most of the time. Spencer asked if I had a test in math today, I told him "no" and he suggested I skip class because of the bad weather. I had already contemplated skipping class, so he just helped me decide quicker. He picked me up and we went swimming for about 2 hours, it was so nice. The pool was warm and the hot tub was very hot, it was great! When I got home, which was about an hour ago, I was talking to Keely and she told me that all the classes after 3:30 approx. were cancelled, so I didn't have a math class to go to. It was great! The weather here is pretty crazy, but I hope it stops soon so I can get my car safety inspected and registered.

Last Night

So Thursday night, Spencer's sister, Julie, and her husband and daughter came to visit. So yesterday night, we all hung out for the most part. We went to dinner at Olive Garden and had fun there, and then after that, Julie and Kelsy didn't want to go to the hockey game with the rest of us, so they went back to Kelsy's house to watch "The Nanny Diaries" while they put Callie, Julie's daughter, to sleep. The rest of us, Brad, Eric, Ben (Julie's husband), Spencer, and I all went to the hockey game. It was USU vs. BYU. We beat BYU 7-2. It was a great game, although we didn't finish it. We left after the second period to go to Brad's house. I thought we were going to talk and have fun, but all we did was finish watching "The Nanny Diaries", oh well. Spencer and I amused ourselves by rolling a green ball to each other. It was fun. I found out the score from Spencer, who found it out from someone on the hockey team. I wish I could have finished the game, but it was fun hanging out with the others.

Christmas Present Exchange Finally

Well Spencer and I finally exchanged our Christmas presents that we got each other. A little late, I know, but we both ordered them late and so the gift I got Spencer came in on Monday and I think that that is when the gift that Spencer got came in as well. Well I got Spencer two shirts from the Colorado Avalanche, which is Spencer's favorite hockey team. It is a three-in-one shirt because it came with a short sleeve shirt and a long sleeve shirt and then you can layer them and make a different shirt. He looked like he really liked it. What Spencer got me was the first season of "Lost". Now the funny thing about this is that Dad got Mom that for her birthday, although I was the one to buy it for him, so that is how I knew she got it. Now the funny part is that when I bought it, I was telling Spencer about how I was so jealous that she got the first season, and by this time, he had already bought it, so he was just laughing inside. And then when I told Mom last night that I got the first season, she was saying how jealous she was that I got it. So this morning, Mom and I were laughing about it. It was great!

Last Leg (this is a little graphic near the end)

Ok, here goes the last leg, we left Scooter's house at about 10:30-11, none of us was looking forward to the drive ahead of us. The one plus was that we would be on the interstate or the highway or whatever so we could drive faster. We had about a 10 hour drive ahead of us, which really sucked! So we got going and everything was good. I basically listened to my iPod the whole time and sang at the top of my lungs so I wouldn't fall asleep, even though I had No Doze in me constantly. I basically had my iPod on so I wouldn't be bored, I would intersperse my iPod listening with talking to Spencer, although I don't really remember everything we talked about, it was basically stuff to keep me occupied, so really random stuff. We drove for ever and let me tell you, New Mexico and Texas suck to drive through because they are really boring! They are flat and boring. Ok, so as we were nearing the New Mexico/Texas border, we could see fog ahead of us, New Mexico was really clear, but Texas had this fog over it. So we drive through and you know, it is just a basic fog, but than it starts to snow...*Duh Duh Duh* =) We stop in Amarillo for gas for my Uhual and it is just pouring snow, it was kinda bad. Dad says that if we drive through Amarillo and beyond, and get to a town called Childress, we would pass the storm and be ok. So we get to the next town around 7 or 8, I can't remember. The town was called Clarendom or Clarendon or something like that for dinner and gas for the Penske and truck.

Oh wait, I almost forgot, I think it was when we hit Texas, after the snow started, my mom and dad switched vehicles, because the boat kept sliding and swerving on my mom, so my dad took over for her. At Clarendon, we had dinner at Pizza Hut, and I only had half a pizza, Connor, Karissa, and Brittney were all feeling sick as well, so none of us really ate. My dad finally said we would get a hotel for the night because we still had another 5 and half hours to go before we hit Fort Worth. There were no open hotels in Clarendon, and no open hotels in the next town, Memphis. So we called Stan to find a hotel in Childress for us, my dad booked a room for us there and we left. Now Childress was about an hour and a half away at our speeds, because we were only going like 35 at the tops. As we left, my dad was in the lead, I followed, than my mom came last. I went about 25-30 mph to stay up with my dad while giving him distance and my mom was going about 15-20 mph. I was talking to Spencer while I was driving because I was having problems staying focused.

Well I drove onto those bumps on the side of the road and it started to suck me in, so I told Spencer to hold on because I was drifting. Well I started to correct myself and the Uhual started to go sideways on me. Well I immediately went "oh crap, hang on Spencer" and I dropped the phone so I could grip the steering wheel better and I managed to right myself when the Uhual went sideways the other way. So i try to correct myself and I slide off the road. As soon as I stop I immediately put my face in my hands and I burst out crying. Spencer the whole is freaking out and trying to get my attention, I finally hear him and tell him I am ok. Now this whole time, my dad had pulled the truck over and was running down the hill towards me. My mom had finally spotted me and Britt had called her to say I went off the road, but I was ok. Now she hit the same patch of ice that I had and her Penske want sideways, so she manages to straighten it out, but it over corrects itself and she corrects it again. Now behind her was a big semi that had tried to slow down for her, but his trailer jack-knifed and he was slowly inching his way towards my mom. Dad in the mean time saw all this happening and was trying to tell my mom to get off the road and my mom is just freaking out and trying to do that at the same time. Now I didn't know that all this was happening, all I knew was I needed to get back on the road and out of the snow.

By the time Dad got to me, I was unstuck, he told me to just drive on the shoulder of the road, not the actual road. The road had about 2 in. of ice on it, almost like an ice skating rink, it was really bad. My dad went back to the truck and started up the hill, but he had to stop to throw up because he was so nervous. He finally found like a little parking lot at the top of the hill, so we all went up there to stay the night. Now the place we stopped at was called Donley's County Gin, whatever that was and it seemed to be trucker heaven, there were so many truckers stopped there. Mom put Boo and Gracee in my Uhual and I went and stayed in the Penske with her. By this time it was 11:15 pm. Before I was even comfortable, I realized that I needed to throw up, so I got out of the Penske and threw up what little dinner I had. And then every 20-30 minutes after that, I had to get out and throw up. It really sucked. And at one point, I had to go to the bathroom, so i went to the truck and got out the butt wipes, and went to the back of the truck and went pee and took a dump. Sorry for whoever reads this.

At around 5:30 am, we finally left, I thought I was ok, but when we got to Clarendon, I realized I wasn't so we ended up staying there for about a 2 hour nap, for me and dad atleast. When we woke up, I thought I was feeling better, but not even 5 minutes later, I had to pull over to throw up again. It really sucked. We had no more problems other than me throwing up and we got to Fort Worth just fine. It is a beautiful house and I'm happy for my family.

USU vs. UVSC/Choir Concert

USU played UVSC (Utah Valley South College) today in hockey. It was a good game. Spencer and I were an hour late because of my choir concert (will talk more on that in a minute). We beat UVSC 6-2 which was great! I guess UVSC is 2nd in the ranking of college hockey, or so Spencer says and USU is 9th in the ranking, so we played really good today to have been able to beat UVSC. Suds got in a fight and kicked out of the game, he lost the fight in my opinion, and Spencer agrees with me :)

Ok, on to my choir concert, although I guess I should switch these cuz the concert was first, but oh well. The choir concert was really awesome. I had so much fun. The pre-show was hilarious and the actual performance was excellent. We had "The Ghost of Christmas Cache" there tonight reminding a janitor who was trying to clean during our performance the true meaning of Christmas, all part of the show in case anybody was wondering :), and both the janitor and the Ghost did a great job at their parts. I am going to buy our CD that the choirs made last month and just now got published tomorrow night at our next concert. It will be great! I am so excited to get the CD.

Hanzel and Gretel

Last night, Spencer took me to see Hanzel and Gretel in opera. It was really good, I really enjoyed it. The actors and actresses all did good. The person playing Hanzel, the brother, was a woman, probably because Hanzel had to sing some kinda high notes that a guy would have had problems with. Spencer took me because he needed to go for his Creative Arts class as a makeup for a previous performance he had missed. He kept trying to sleep through it, but I wouldn't let him. I'm so mean I know. :P
