Ok, so on Saturday night, November 1, Spencer and I went to watch the USU hockey game. The Aggies won 14-2, I think, I don't remember the exact score but we creamed them. We played Utah Valley University. After the USU game, Spencer had a Men's League game. So he was my ride and so I stayed to watch him. It is only like 5-7 minutes into the game when I looked up and i saw Spencer leaning down to get the puck and his skate lost the edge. So he fell onto his stomach. He blocks the shot by the oppposing team, and he keeps sliding and just slams into the boards.
I was watching and as soon as he hit, I just knew something was wrong. I just had a feeling in my gut. When Spencer hit, all the impact went into his shoulder. When he got up, he saw the puck at his feet and swung at it. When he swung, he felt and heard a loud pop coming from his shoulder. He knew something was wrong and so went to the bench. (Now, you have to remember that I am watching all of this with a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach and worry on my face.) I am watching as he sits on the bench and then watching John (manager of the ice rink and a coach for the USU team) pull off Spencer's jersey. I am watching as Spencer and John leave the rink and go back to the lockers. As soon as he was off the ice, I gathered my blanket and purse and go to see what happened and they had disappeared into one of the lockers.
So I am sitting in the stands waiting to know what happened. John finally comes back out and waves me down. I get down to him and he tells me Spencer hurt his shoulder and I need to take him to the E.R. As he is telling me this my stomach just drops lower and lower. So I drive Spencer's jeep to the hospital and I am not wanting to go the speed limit. I didn't want to go fast over any bumps in the road and jar his shoulder. So I'm going at like 25 mph until Spencer just tells me to speed up so we get to the hospital before he passes out. So I start to freak, I am on the verge of tears with worry. It sucked.
So we finally get to the hospital. I had pulled into the drop off area the wrong way, I wasn't even paying attention, all I wanted to to do was get him in there. So he heads into the E.R. while I park the jeep. When I get into the waiting room with him, they have us wait like 10-15 min before they will admit him into a room. Then once we get into the room, it was another 10-15 min before they took him to get x-rayed. While he was getting x-rayed I'm just chilling in his room with nothing to do except worry.
When he finally gets back to the room, we had to wait another 10 min before the doctor came and talked to us. When the doctor came, he told us that Spencer had separated his shoulder and that Spencer had a 3rd degree AC separation. So there were two treatment options, 1) get surgery; 2) let it heal without surgery. But the doctor in the E.R. wouldn't tell us more than that, we had to see an Orthopedic surgeon about that. So the doctor put Spencer in a sling, gave him some drugs and gave him the name of an Orthopedic surgeon.
Now Spencer has been on Percocet for the last, almost week now. The doctors in the E.R. only gave him 16 pills, that was only enough until Tuesday morning. Spencer didn't see the Orthopedic surgeon until Wednesday afternoon. He didn't want to go a day and a half without any pain pills. So we drove to the E.R. to see if they would give him some more drugs, they wouldn't. Then he went to the hockey doctor to see if he would. The hockey doctor wasn't there. Then we went to see the Orthopedic surgeon to see if they would, and they wouldn't. Then Spencer got a call to say that the hockey doctor got the message and wrote out a perscription for more Percocet.
Ugh! This has been hectic. I'll keep you posted on what is going on.

San Jose Sharks vs. L.A. Kings
So I got to go see the San Jose Sharks and the L.A. Kings play on Sunday. It was an ok game. It was a good hockey game, but it was kinda boring. The fans were split in who they were cheering for. So the fans were not very loud or exciting. Spencer, me, Eric (Spencer's brother), and Chris (their roommate) all went to watch the game. The score was Sharks 3, L.A. 1.

Utah State vs. University of Utah
On Friday, USU played U of U. We beat them 6-3. Spencer and Eric actually got to play this game, although that was simply because this was the last game of the season. Spencer and Eric were on a line with 2 other guys, this was dumb because you are only supposed to have 3 guys on a line, not 4. So it sucked for them. Spencer told me before the game that he was going to get in a fight, he really wanted to. So in the second period, Spencer is skating along, and "accidentally" elbowed some guy in the head. I don't know if it was on purpose, so that is why there are parantheses. After this happened, this other guy, who had also tried to pick a fight with Spencer earlier, came up and cross-checked him in the neck. (Cross-checking, for those of you who don't know, is when they take their stick, put their hands at opposite ends, and then hit somebody with it.) So Spencer nomrally would have just walked away, but since there was 4 people on his line, he decided to fight the kid. Now this kid hurried and jabbed Spencer twice in the side before Spencer wailed on him. Spencer knocked the kids helmet off, and when he tried to drop his gloves so he could fight better, they wouldn't slide off, so he just started hitting. Now this kid is about as tall as I am, maybe a little taller, and so Spencer just started wailing on his face like it was no big deal, he probably got in 3 or 4 good hits before the ref's came and separated them. Spencer and the other kid got kicked out, but the other kid got called on instigating the fight, which he did. Spencer just finished it. I took pics of the fight, but I have to wait till Spencer emails them to me, but I will post them as soon as I can.

Last Night
So Thursday night, Spencer's sister, Julie, and her husband and daughter came to visit. So yesterday night, we all hung out for the most part. We went to dinner at Olive Garden and had fun there, and then after that, Julie and Kelsy didn't want to go to the hockey game with the rest of us, so they went back to Kelsy's house to watch "The Nanny Diaries" while they put Callie, Julie's daughter, to sleep. The rest of us, Brad, Eric, Ben (Julie's husband), Spencer, and I all went to the hockey game. It was USU vs. BYU. We beat BYU 7-2. It was a great game, although we didn't finish it. We left after the second period to go to Brad's house. I thought we were going to talk and have fun, but all we did was finish watching "The Nanny Diaries", oh well. Spencer and I amused ourselves by rolling a green ball to each other. It was fun. I found out the score from Spencer, who found it out from someone on the hockey team. I wish I could have finished the game, but it was fun hanging out with the others.

USU vs. UVSC/Choir Concert
USU played UVSC (Utah Valley South College) today in hockey. It was a good game. Spencer and I were an hour late because of my choir concert (will talk more on that in a minute). We beat UVSC 6-2 which was great! I guess UVSC is 2nd in the ranking of college hockey, or so Spencer says and USU is 9th in the ranking, so we played really good today to have been able to beat UVSC. Suds got in a fight and kicked out of the game, he lost the fight in my opinion, and Spencer agrees with me :)
Ok, on to my choir concert, although I guess I should switch these cuz the concert was first, but oh well. The choir concert was really awesome. I had so much fun. The pre-show was hilarious and the actual performance was excellent. We had "The Ghost of Christmas Cache" there tonight reminding a janitor who was trying to clean during our performance the true meaning of Christmas, all part of the show in case anybody was wondering :), and both the janitor and the Ghost did a great job at their parts. I am going to buy our CD that the choirs made last month and just now got published tomorrow night at our next concert. It will be great! I am so excited to get the CD.

USU vs. Denver University
USU played Denver University Saturday night in hockey. We lost 6-3. We managed to keep ahead throughout the first and second period, but in the third period, we lost it. Spencer didn't dress out for this game, which kinda pissed him off, but he got over it. Eric dressed out and only played two shifts in the third period for like 40 seconds each shift. It sucked really. Julie and them were still here, so they came as well. In the third period, there was one big fight, where it was three different little fights happening at the same time. I think one of the DU players was kicked out of the game, and two of our players left the ice, there was like 1:30 or 2 minutes left in the game, so it was ok. One of our guys had his eyelid split open, which really sucked for him, but I'm pretty sure he had enough girls to help take the pain away. Yeah, Spencer, Eric, and one other guy on the team are the only LDS guys on the whole hockey team.
This is the pee-wee hockey players that played between the first and second period! Most of the time, they fell down and were sitting on the ice, it was really cute!
Aren't they fricking adorable!!! They are only between the ages of 5-7 at the most. It was sooo cute!
After the game, everybody went swimming-which meant me, Spencer, Eric, Julie, Ben (her husband), Kelsy, and Brad. After we went swimming, we stayed over at Spencer's house and watched Shrek 2 while Ben cooked some antelope for us to eat. It was really good! First time I've ever had wild meat.

USU vs. San Jose State
On Friday, USU played San Jose State in hockey. We lost I think it was 3-2 or something like that, I don't remember. It was a good game. Spencer's sister, Julie and her husband and daughter were here from Montana visiting and they came to the game as well. It was an ok game, we lost, which sucked, but I don't think we played our best. Spencer and Eric dressed out, but they never got to play during the game, which really sucked. Callie, who is Spencer's niece, was playing with my McDonald's animals that I had on my purse and she started to throw them around, and two of them fell down between the players' bench and the spectators' bench, and fell underneath. They're probably still there if the staff hasn't found them yet, I didn't feel like going under to get them, so I lost them, oh well. Callie was so cute that I couldn't get mad at anybody, and plus, I just didn't care at all, I still have three left, so I'm ok.

USU vs. BYU
So USU played BYU last night and OMG was it a good game!!! Oh it was a sweet game! No fights or anyone getting thrown out, which was good, although there was almost a fight but the refs stopped it. I ended having some BYU fans sitting next to me, which was really annoying, especially when he would cheer when BYU scored or one of our guys got hurt, which is what I was doing for USU, but that's beside the point. We won, and it was a freaking sweet win!!! The score was 3-2 with the winning shot being in overtime with 0.8 seconds left on the clock. The captain of the team scored and he is on defense, so it was weird to have him score, but whatever, I was so excited that we won!!!

USU vs. Weber State
Last night, USU hockey played Weber State. It was such a good game!!! We lost, which really sucked, but it wasn't until the very end that Weber pulled ahead so far, the score was 5-7. There were two fights during the game. The first one was either at the end of the first period or the beginning of the second period, I don't remember. One of our guys was thrown out of the game for the first fight. In the second fight, another one of our guys was thrown out and a member of Weber was thrown out as well. I don't know exactly why the first fight happened but the second fight happened because the USU goalie, Cornelius, had his hand on the puck, which means nobody is allowed to touch him, but a Weber member started hacking at Cornelius' hands trying to get the puck, well that is just foul play and so our defense started hitting this guy, than all hell broke loose. All 11 people down there, including Cornelius, just started swinging and hitting each other. There were gloves and helmets and sticks flying. In one of the fights that one of the refs was trying to break up, the ref was actually brought down to the ice and the other 2 refs had to come and help break it up. Holy cow the crowds were going wild, it was crazy. It really sucked that we lost, especially because there is some rivalry between our two schools. But I am really looking forward to the game tonight, we are playing BYU and the stadium is going to be packed, this is a game that everybody is going to want to come to.
Here is a pic of Eric and Spencer in their uniforms and pads.
This is me before the game teaching Spencer how to use my camera, he really liked this pic.
